Executive Team
John F. Santaguida, Chief Executive Officer
John joined McMorgan in 2006 as Managing Director of Sales, Marketing and Client Services. He assumed the role of CEO in March 2008 and oversees all internal operations, including the fixed income and real estate investment teams, operations, compliance and corporate accounting. John brings a wealth of experience to McMorgan from his 20+ years in the financial services industry. He is a member of the McMorgan Investment Policy and Real Estate Investment Committees. Before joining McMorgan, he was Managing Director of New York Life Investment Management LLC, Retirement Plan Services Taft-Hartley division. Prior to that, John spent 10 years at Wachovia Corporation where he was National Sales Manager for their Retirement Services Division. John also worked in various capacities at Bankers Trust Company for 10 years. He earned a BBA degree from the George Washington University and a MBA from New York University. He maintains Series 7, 24, and 66 FINRA designations.
Brian T. Morton, President
Brian joined McMorgan & Company in 1988 and serves as our President, working closely with our Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Committee overseeing all aspects of the business. Additionally Brian sits on the Real Estate Investment Committee. When he first joined McMorgan, Brian worked in our Real Estate Department, then moving to Client Services where he served as Executive Vice President of Client Services until September 2002. He joined the firm from the Institutional Investment Department at Merrill Lynch, New York. Brian has a BS degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.
David M. Steele, Chief Investment Officer
David joined McMorgan in 2001. He is responsible for managing the firm's investment efforts in both fixed income and equities and serves as Chairman of our Investment Policy Committee. He has 27 years of experience in investment management, with a primary focus in the fixed income markets. David has extensive expertise in the active management of fixed income portfolios against multiple benchmarks, utilizing moderate duration, sector, yield curve, and security selection strategies. He also has experience utilizing financial futures in client portfolios. A graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Marketing, David also holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California.
Mark R. Taylor, Executive Vice President, Director of Real Estate
Mark joined McMorgan & Company in 1991 and has 27 years of diverse experience in real estate management, marketing and client service. Mark oversees our real estate effort, managing the acquisitions, asset management and research teams. Mark was appointed to the Real Estate Investment Committee in October 2001 and has played a key role in the creation and growth of the McMorgan Institutional Real Estate Fund I (MIREF). Prior to joining McMorgan, Mark spent 10 years in various real estate roles, including Project Coordinator for the Grubb & Ellis Development Company, an independent research consultant to the RREEF Funds, and a Leasing and Development Coordinator with Bramalea Limited, a major Canadian real estate developer. Mark holds a degree in Economics from Stanford University, and is a former Captain in the United States Army Reserve.
